Manual Manipulation Techniques:  This is most common therapeutic procedure performed.  The purpose of manual manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joints and tissues, is to restore mobility by applying a controlled force to the joints that have become fixated or restricted in their movements due to illness or injury.  Manipulation restores mobility and improves circulation thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness allowing tissues to heal properly and more quickly.

Soft Tissue Therapy:  These therapies include electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, motor mobilization (traction), G5 massage and hot/cold applications.  Used in conjunction with manual manipulation, these therapies are applied to treat soft tissue concerns associated with the condition.

Trigger Point Therapy/Shiatsu Techniques:  This therapy is a myofacial release technique aimed at alleviating contracture and spasming of muscles that contributes to pain and discomfort.  Similar to deep-tissue massage, this technique used with manual manipulation treats localized and referred pain (e.g. fibromyalgia.)

Acupuncture:  Acupuncture, among the oldest healing practices in the world, is the placement of very fine needles at specific points in the body to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. This stimulation boosts the activity of your body's natural painkillers and increases blood flow.  At Plymouth Chiropractic Clinic, acupuncture is used as a complement to other therapies.
